UVSA Leadership Summit 2018

On May 12, Senator Ngo traveled to Toronto to attend the United Vietnamese Student Association’s 2018 Leadership Summit.  The Summit was comprised of a series of educational, professional, and interactive workshops and team-building activities that aimed to empower youth to further engage in their communities. As part of the program, Senator Ngo was invited as a keynote speaker for a roundtable and panel discussion that focused on issues relevant to young Vietnamese Canadians. These included questions of intergenerational identity, mental health awareness, and youth engagement in Canadian politics. Several alumni of Senator Ngo’s Summer Internship Program participated as panelists or audience members. The Summit was a resounding success and demonstrated the real potential of young Vietnamese Canadians to become the leaders of tomorrow.
