Two Sisters Commemorative Event

On March 17, Senator traveled to Toronto to attend the Two Sisters Commemorative event organized by the Vietnamese Women’s Association of Toronto, with the support of the Vietnamese Association, Toronto (VAT), Vietnamese Cultural Society and The Former Thu Duc Reserves Officer Cadet Association of Ontario. This annual event is a tribute to the legacy of the heroic Truong Sisters (40 CE-43 CE) who led the Vietnamese people in the fight against foreign invasion in the early part of the 1st century CE. Their story of courage and defiance in the face of oppression is an inspiration to the Vietnamese community in Canada and across the world.
