Golden Age Village for the Elderly Visit 2014

August 10, 2014

Senator Ngo was in Vaughan, Ontario on August 9th, 2014 to visit the Golden Age Village for the Elderly. This not-for-profit elderly care facility is currently in the process of expansion on the 5.6 acre property on Pine Valley Drive and will be specialized for Vietnamese Canadian seniors. The main purpose of the construction of the Golden Age Village for the Elderly is to provide for elderly Vietnamese speakers, especially the generation of the “boat people” migration, an environment in which dietary and cultural needs can be met. Senator Ngo sat down with the current board members and discussed their aspirations for this particular senior home. The board hopes that the elderly village can be completed and occupied within the next five years; currently, the house on the property is already being used as a club for tai chi and cooking classes for Vietnamese seniors.
