Demonstration on Parliament Hill against Vietnam’s human rights violations

July 7, 2018

On July 7, 2018, the Vietnamese Canadian Federation (VCF), in collaboration with other Vietnamese Canadian groups, organized and held a demonstration on Parliament Hill to protest the recent human right violations in Vietnam. Demonstrations were also held at the Chinese Embassy and Vietnamese Embassy in Ottawa later that afternoon. There were an estimated 500 participating community members from Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal. The demonstrations sent a strong message against China’s occupation of Vietnam’s territorial waters and Vietnam’s new repressive cybersecurity law.
