Unofficial Vietnamese Translation of Canada’s National Anthem

In the spirit of Canada’s 150th Anniversary, the Vietnamese-Canadian community orchestrated their efforts to record the Vietnamese version of the National Anthem of Canada. For the Vietnamese-Canadian community, the National Anthem is a powerful composition that evokes the shared values of freedom, human rights and democracy. It is also a historical eulogy of our nation’s compassionate response in to welcoming the Vietnamese boat people refugees in Canada after the fall of Saigon in 1975. In testament of Canada’s diverse musical landscape, we wish to celebrate and honour our shared heritage for Canada’s 150th Anniversary by sharing this version of the National Anthem.
